Why egg crate is the classic studio foam

The egg crate pattern has been the standard acoustic foam profile in studios and recording spaces for decades — and for good reason. The peaks and valleys dramatically increase the effective surface area of each tile, meaning more material contacts incoming sound waves and absorbs them before they can reflect. The irregular surface also scatters sound that does reflect, breaking up the flutter echo and standing waves that make recordings sound amateurish. How to install

Step 1

Unpack and expand

Open vacuum packaging and leave in a ventilated space for 24–48 hours. Or soak in water, wring out, and blow dry for faster expansion.

Step 2

Start where it matters most

The wall directly opposite the main sound source generates the most reflection. Treat this first — add tiles outward from that point as your pack size allows.

Step 3

Cut edge tiles

Use scissors for 1-inch tiles. Use a sharp serrated knife for 2-inch and 3-inch tiles. Cut edge tiles to fit wall width cleanly.

Step 4

Mount and test

Apply the included tape and press tiles firmly to the wall. Clap once in the room after installation — the reduction in echo is immediately audible.

⚠️ Important note about white foam

White foam tiles will oxidize and turn yellow within 3–7 days of unpacking. This does not affect acoustic performance. If appearance matters, choose one of the other 7 available colors.

Packages from our warehouse in China will be shipped by ePacket or EMS depending on the weight and size of the product. Packages shipped from our US warehouse are shipped through USPS.

Yes. We provide free shipping to over 200 countries around the world. However, there are some locations we are unable to ship to. If you happen to be located in one of those countries we will contact you.

What about customs?

Will my items be sent in one package?

For logistical reasons, items in the same purchase will sometimes be sent in separate packages, even if you've specified combined shipping.

RETURNS

Order cancellation

All orders can be cancelled until they are shipped. If your order has been paid and you need to make a change or cancel an order, you must contact us within 12 hours. Once the packaging and shipping process has started, it can no longer be cancelled.

Refunds
